Today we will show you how to capture your own prospects and why these prospects are far better than the ones you pay for... I need leads! When it comes to obtaining prospects for your business, many people become discouraged rather quickly when purchasing leads. This is totally understandable as most purchased leads are junk! There are some reputable lead sources available but you have to sift through the piles of bad companies to find them and they are usually quite expensive. The problem with all purchased leads is the fact that they opted to receive some information about something but they did not request anything from you. This can set you up for a host of challenges. First of all, selling to these leads is hard because they don't know you from Adam. This can also lead to complaints that your emails were sent unsolicited. All of these drawbacks combined with the fact that they cost serious money makes purchased leads less than desireable. The Solution? Instead of paying for leads that are totally unaware of you or your business, try using your own lead capture pages that let your prospects subscribe knowing exactly what they are subscribing to. And for the most part, these leads are completely free. The advantages are obvious. First of all, if you use a "double opt-in" autoresponder your prospects must verify their intent to join your list. A good autoresponder will also keep your prospects ISP address and time stamp on file to protect you if the need arises. The most important benefit is the fact that the majority of your prospects will know exactly what they subscribed to - and that they are interested in receiving more info. This is a far better plan! You will have to know a little html as well as know how to insert the autoresponder form code on your pages. You will then have to get some traffic to these pages. Whatever obstacles you need to overcome, I highly recommend setting up your own lead capture pages! You can also check out this free system below that does most of the dirty work for you. Yesterday we talked about using Traffic Exchanges as a free advertising source to capture your own leads. We also discussed the importance of targeting your advertising to the Traffic Exchange user. Today's tip involves using similar principals with another often misunderstood and misused free advertising method: Safelists What is a Safelist? A Safelist (not to be confused with an opt-in or newsletter list) is an advertising system that allows you to mass email the entire safelist database in exchange for receiving email from other safelist members. The key with safelists is again to target your advertising - offer something that appeals to other safelist advertisers. Turning Safelist Advertisers into LEADS! Here's a GREAT tip for getting safelist readers to subscribe directly to your newsletter list. 1. Advertise something in your message that appeals to the advertiser (such as info on improving their results with safelists). 2. Use a subscription page as the landing page you are advertising. 3. Some safelist readers will click through from your email ad to your subscription page. 4. Some of these visitors will subscribe to your newsletter and BINGO! You have another source of opt-in leads for your mailing list :o) Be warned though Terry, Safelist advertising can be a tricky business if you don't know what you are doing. I strongly recommend you read Soren Jordansen's Safelist_Survival_Guide before joining ANY safelists. However if used correctly and consistantly with targeted advertising and a good lead capture and follow-up system, safelists can produce excellent results.
